Wanting to explore beyond the gates and fences of his paddock, Hipi tries to escape every way he can but with no success… until a helpful and thoughtful fantail comes along. You will have to read the ‘Hipi loves to Explore’ to see what happens next!
Also join Hipi as he strolls along the beach learning his numbers from 1-10. At first he is feeling sad that he can’t figure out the order of the numbers but with an optimistic attitude he soon realizes that if he takes his time and has a look around, the numbers aren’t as tricky as he once thought.

About The Illustrator

Nicole Mataitis grew up in Canada and calls both Canada and New Zealand her home. Her husband, Matt, was raised in the South Island and she shares his love for the rugged landscape and tranquil lifestyle. When in New Zealand, they live in Queensberry with their two children who are lucky to be surrounded with land, rivers, mountains and good people. Since a young age, Nicole fostered a love for writing with Hipi the Sheep being her first published work. Ultimately, her wish is to write stories that inspire children to learn through discovery, choose happiness, and enjoy life.
